Year of Cheer Shaker Card

Sorry I have been away from the blog for a week, life just seemed to get into way this last week. I am now back with a metallic bang and have been playing with lots of Mixed Metallics so expect to see a few cards featuring this coming soon. I am participating the the Stampin' Dreams - Something Different Blog Hop and I have created shaker card for you featuring the Year of Cheer Speciality Paper from the  Stampin' Up! 2017 Holiday Catalogue.

I started this card by deciding to make a congratulations card and then choosing my favourite paper from the Year of Cheer Speciality Paper which features both Copper and Champagne Foil. Using a circle die from the Layering Circle Framelits in the Big Shot creating the window for the shaker. I added a Window Sheet behind the circle added Foam Adhesive Strips around the outside of the circle on the window sheet so the sequins can move. I filled the shaker with some of our Metallic Sequin Assortment and closed it with a piece of Champagne Foil paper. I added further adhesive strips to the back of the card above and below the shaker to make it all even. To finish the front of the card I cut the congrats word die from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits in the Big Shot using the precision plate so you don't get embossed dots on the word from the die and Silver heat embossed a coordinating sentiment from the matching Sunshine Sayings stamp set onto Basic Black card stock flagging the ends using the Triple Banner Punch adhering both sentiments to the card front. Finally I adhered the card front to a Basic Black card base.

Just Add Text stamp, Pattern Party Mask with Embossing Paste Card #GDP090

I was so excited to receive my box full of new Stampin' Up! products from the 2017-2018 Annual Catalogue catalogue (I will share my goodies on a Facebook LIVE in a few days) I just want to break everything out and play right now but made the choice to play with our Pattern Party Decorative Masks and Embossing Paste. I paired this card with this week's Global Design Project 090 Sketch Challenge.  I started with a piece of Thick Whisper White  and my medallion stencil from the Pattern Party Masks, taped it down with some washi tape so it doesn't shift and skimmed over some Texture Paste using the Palette Knifes, lifted the mask and washed it off straight away so the paste doesn't set on it. The paste took about 20 minutes to dry and didn't warp as I used a thicker card stock.

On a piece of scrap Vellum I stamped the sentiment from Just add Text in Archival Basic Black ink, i dried it using the heat tool and coloured the reverse side wth Berry Burst, Fresh Fig, Powder pink, Old Olive and Crushed Curry Stampin' Write Markers I flagged the end of the Vellum using the Triple Banner Punch and adhered it using small dabs of glue. I embellished the crd using a piece of Basic Black Shimmer Ribbon which is just stunning and some Metallic Assorted Sequins. I layered tis piece on berry Burst card stock on a Basic Black Card base

* I did compare our Embossing Paste to another I had at home and found the Stampin' Up! paste to be not quite as thick as the other which did not effect how you use it. The final results was it is hard to tell which one is which I am extremely happy with.

Scenic Sayings and Serene Scenery Paper Stack Card

I adore the photo realistic papers in the Serene Scenery Paper Stack and how easily you make simple but beautiful card especially when paired with the Serene Sayings Stamp Set.

 I have used a stamp from the Serene Saying stamp set on the Dandelion paper from the Serene Scenery 6x6 Paper Stack. I stamped the stamp in Versamark directly onto the patterned paper trimmed to size of a card front and coated it with White Embossing Powder and melted it with with out Heat Tool. I forgot to use the Embossing Buddy on this card so I did have a few stray pieces of powder. I added the patterned paper piece to a Thick Whisper White card base and to finish off the card added a few gold sequins from the Metallics Sequin Assortment glued with Tomboy Multi Purpose Glue.
